Our Staff

The early education teachers at Our Little Treasures Daycare and Preschool are passionate about your child's happiness and growth. They're dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment that cultivates self-esteem.

Our Little Treasures is more than a job to them. It's an opportunity to share their passion for life while they awaken the wonder inside each and every child. Here's how they do it.

Age Specific Classes

Our targeted age groups allow teachers to focus on the individual learning styles and needs of each child in our center.

Partnering with Families

Our Little Treasures teachers and staff want to form a strong partnership with you to ensure the best possible experience for your child. Our teachers provide daily communication with families and seek to understand your unique needs.

Highly Trained Early Childhood Teachers

Our Little Treasures Daycare and Preschool devotes time and resources to teacher training in a variety of topics. We strive to host ample opportunities for training not only for our teachers and staff, but also for parents.  Our teachers are dedicated to developing your child's potential and are sensitive to your child's individual needs.

Miss Erika Huemiller
(Director/Owner)

First and foremost, I love the Lord our God and thank Him for providing what we have. I give him the glory for what we can accomplish.

I am married to Jayce Huemiller who shares my passion for working with children through coaching sports!

We recently moved from Washington state with our two girls (and another on the way!) and love the Black Hills! I was born in Tokyo, Japan but grew up most of my life in Washington state.

I received my bachelors in Society, Ethics, and Human Behavior with a minor in Education and Society from the University of Washington, and then completed the K-8 post Baccalaureate teaching program there as well. I also hold a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governor's University.

I have been a classroom teacher for 6 years, but have many years of working alongside mentors, teachers, and students in a variety of educational and childcare settings. I have taught grades K-3, but spent most of my teaching years in a kindergarten classroom! While I love all children, my happy place is truly with the early childhood age group!

My love for children, and my passion for teaching and learning are what have brought me to this profession. I believe that all children can achieve success, and that this success begins at a very young age. I am very passionate about educating and encouraging our next generations to reach their full potential by giving them the tools to be dedicated to achieving their goals, hardworking to ensure their success, and passionate about becoming whatever they want to be!

I feel honored to be given this opportunity to work alongside you to build meaningful relationships and meet the individual needs of your children!

Miss Jennifer B.
(Assistant Director)

I am married to Travis and together we have 2 boys and a girl.

I graduated from Sidney High School in Montana and attended Yellowstone Baptist College in Billings, MT.  My family moved to Rapid City in May of 2009 when I began working for Our Little Treasures.  In 2011 I left Our Little Treasures and taught at another preschool for 3 years.

I have happily invested 17 years in the childcare and preschool field.  I have a CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) and I am CPR and First Aid certified.

When growing up, I  envisioned being a special education teacher. Today I still enjoy that area of teaching, but have found my greatest joy with preschoolers.  I love to research and learn about various special needs and how I can individualize my focus to help every child live life to their fullest potential.
